Hart & Hickman assisted a South Carolina commercial developer obtain a Non-Responsible Party Voluntary Cleanup Contract for a 33-acre former tungsten carbide manufacturing site in Duncan, SC.
After negotiating with DHEC to reduce the scope of Phase II assessment (reducing assessment costs by more than 50%), Hart & Hickman conducted soil, surface water, ground water, and sediment sampling. Stream sampling was conducted to identify potential off-site sources of contamination.
After being vacant since 2001, the 140,000 sq ft research facility is now leased to a national pyrotechnics distribution facility and provides jobs for the surrounding community.
