Hart & Hickman worked closely with the City of Concord to assess and remediate the former City Garage, which was comprised of multiple truck service buildings and 7 petroleum USTs, as well as battery and pesticide storage areas.
The City and a non-profit developer used multiple funding resources, including the City’s Community Development Block Grant and HUD financing to drive the senior housing project, which includes a public recreation center.
The project’s proximity to the City’s downtown area provides tremendous benefit to the future tenants and downtown shop owners. Obtaining the required UST closures required working closely with the owner of an adjoining garden tour property which utilized ground water for irrigation purposes.
Hart & Hickman was able to obtain expedited closure on seven leaking UST incidents at the site to satisfy the developers requirements. This project is a key component of the City’s downtown revitalization effort and Hart & Hickman is proud to have assisted them in their success.
