Community Outreach Meeting
February 25, 2009A community outreach meeting, held on the evening of Wednesday, February 25, was held at Wadley City Hall. The City's selected consultants, Hart & Hickman, presented an overview of the Phase II site assesment findings. There was no environmental impact identified in soil or ground water. Attendees at the meeting discussed various ideas about what the property could be used for. Ideas including a senior citizen activity center, office spaces, new location for City Hall, public pavilion for concerts or other events, an ice cream shop in the former gasoline station and several other ideas were discussed.
These ideas will be taken to a planner who will create several conceptual site plans and artists renderings of what the future use of the property could look like. These renderings will take several weeks to complete.
