Davis Pipe and Metal Fabricators, DP Holdings, Premier Pipe and Tube Group) who utilized the facility for fabrication of welded stainless steel and alloy pipe and fittings. Davis Pipe reportedly began site operations in 1978 and conducted activities including fabrication of metal piping, pipe cutting, annealing, pickling, welding, storage of raw production materials and finished product, and shipment of finished product and waste material.

Site Environmental Assessments
Hart & Hickman completed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) of the former Davis Pipe Company property in March 2007. Read More

Hart & Hickman completed Phase II sampling of soil, sediment, ground water, and surface water at the Davis Pipe site in January 2008. The Phase II ESA data indicated little environmental impact to the site. Drums and other smaller containers of chemicals and oils scattered about the facility were relocated and restaged into a single secure building and unknown drums were sampled for waste profiling. An asbestos survey was conducted which identified minor occurrences in site building materials. Costs for asbestos removal will be modest. Read More

Redevelopment plans and associated construction should consider the presence of a RCRA solid waste management unit (former pickling pit now capped with an engineered liner and asphalt) currently being regulated by the TDEC under a RCRA Post Closure Permit. The current permit requires maintenance of the asphalt cap and limitations of ground water usage. If left undisturbed in this capped condition and the asphalt is properly maintained, exposure risk to identified soil and ground water contamination is minimized.
