Rome Brownfields

The City of Rome plans to use EPA Brownfield Assessment Grant funds for the environmental assessment and cleanup and redevelopment planning of brownfield properties that will ensure continued forward progress toward the redevelopment of the South Rome Community, as well as other areas of the City. Funds will be utilized to identify, prioritize, and assess brownfield sites within the City. Efforts will especially focus on assisting the current redevelopment and revitalization efforts in the South Rome neighborhoods. The brownfields grant will complement and leverage the successes of those efforts, as well as address the environmental concerns and blight within the neighborhoods there and in other areas of the City.

Grant funds will be allocated over the following tasks:
• Project management and Reporting
• Public Involvement
• Site Inventory and Characterization
• Cleanup and Redevelopment Planning
