Douglas Block Celebration
July 19, 2011The City of Rocky Mount held the Douglas Block Celebration on April 29, 2011. The celebration began on Friday with a spelling bee at the redeveloped Booker T. Theatre. The celebration then continued with a ribbon cutting ceremony. On Saturday, the Harambee Festival was held and had numerous musicians throughout the day. Guided tours of the Douglas Block were available throughout the weekend.
The weekend wrapped up with a couple of matinee movies at the Booker T. Theatre.
