SC DHEC Executes Voluntary Cleanup Contract for SDS Properties

SCDHEC executed the Voluntary Cleanup Contract (VCC) for the SDS Properties after a 30-day public review period.  The VCC covers all of the six properties formerly owned by SDS including the medical waste incinerator and associated storage properties.  The Town of Hampton is still in eminant domain proceedings to take ownership of the SDS Properties.  The VCC will help protect the Town from potential environmental liabilities at the site.  In addition, tax credits may be available to future developers of the site.
