Anderson County Awarded $200,000 EPA Brownfield Grant

Anderson County Tennessee was awarded a $200,000 Brownfield Assessment Grant from EPA Region 4 in 2008.  The grant is site-specific and is focused on the assessment of the former La-Lite Block Corporation site in Lake City, TN.  The property has been used for auto salvage operations. 

Under the assessment grant, a Phase I assessment has been conducted on the site which identified numerous Recognized Environmental Conditions related to on-site auto salvage activities.  

A work plan is currently being developed for a Phase II assessment to investigate the identified environmental concerns at the property.
